Message From The Principal’s Desk

Since inception, The Elisabeth Gauba School remains a pioneer in early education and strongly believing that ‘Education is a concept that surpasses the four walls of the classroom’. Bearing a unique confluence of the Waldorf and Montessori, of using the ‘head, heart and hands’ approach, combined with self-directed activity, hands-on learning and collaborative play in a supportive, well prepared, simple and clean environment, the uniqueness of ‘Aunty Guaba’s’ methodology came to be known as the ‘Shivniketan Method’. It propagated the Guru-Shishya Parampara which remains ever robust in The Elisabeth Gauba School.

Following the footsteps of our founder, Late Mrs. Elisabeth Gauba, we take forward her legacy of ‘free learning’ in a prepared environment with a modern approach. We believe that each child is unique and work towards tapping into their inner potential to bring out their best. We create and provide immersive, nurturing, and experiential learning environment to our students. At the same time, children get exposure to joyful and intellectually stimulating learning spaces, with the best techniques from across the globe. Our innovative pedagogical practices foster a play-based and music-filled environment. Our school curriculum is both, supporting and progressively challenging, which facilitates the students to develop their latent potentials. Generations of students vividly recall Aunty Gauba at her piano - playing and teaching singing, encouraging them to draw or enact whatever they observed or read, to making clay or plasticine models. Others recall ‘tuning in’ to the ‘radio broadcast’ to hear poetry, stories and plays, performed by classmates from behind a white curtain on which was drawn an outline of the radio.

Focussing on providing holistic and all-round development to our children, we emphasise upon experiential and activity-based learning. This enables the students to internalize various concepts. Our co-curricular activities include exposure to Indian & Western Music, Games & Yoga, Performing Arts, Arts & Craft, Dance Classes, Inter Class & Inter House Competitions and more.

Music and Movement, Speech & Drama and Life Skills Education continue to be the primary means of communicating the essence and essential of early learning. As an aficionado of the Performing Arts, having directed several successful Broadway-style English Musicals, innovative ideas towards ‘on-stage pedagogy’ are introduced and seamlessly integrated into Mrs Gauba’s unique contributions, for holistic growth of our students.

It is our endeavour to make our children grow up imbibing good, humanistic values and become true global citizens. Our team of dedicated, capable faculty members with their positive energy and commitment keep the ethos of our school shining.
